Never turn your back

Unread post by Jason » Sat Oct 21, 2017 4:51 am

I turn my back for one second and the board gets a spanking by spam, even though we're using googles recaptcha spam protection.

Only myself to blame no_02

Some of these fuckers have 7k posts, WHAT THE F**K! angry01

  I'm sorry

Some good news, I have been busy working on site related things thup01
Getting SilverStripe (the website's new CMS) to work with phpBB (the piece of poo forum software).

You know looking at the phpBB code you realise just how out dated and terrible it is but there is no real alternative. Although it is terrible, I mean, really really bad using at least 12 year old programming techniques

I'm working on lots of things. Projects, projects, projects!

How was this possible? I thought every account has to be activated manually after registration?

No but it used to be however I didn't want anyone to wait around for me to activate it so I replaced it with recaptcha. Sometimes real people register spam accounts but there might be a security hole which I'm looking to fix now (if there is one they used).

Did you also blocked my IP (90.190...)? Because all links to this forum suddenly saying that this page is not accessible, I had to use online proxy...

No it uses a spam database list of IPs to check, I made a change, try accessing the board again without proxy
