Is there a way to play H&D2 without the 'play' CD or make a backup copy?

Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to play H&D2 without using the 'play' CD...or at least make a backup copy of it. Its kind of a pain to use the CD, and I also figure the game would likely run better from my drive. The factory CD is also getting a bit rough looking though it still works. I have the game and its a factory made, store bought game, but I figure I'm at least entitled to make a backup copy of the play CD at the very least! Does anybody know if this is possible? I appreciate the help...

theres is a no_cd crack, i had it before and ive lost it, but im sure someone on here can sort you out with it

You can go to a place called gamecopyworld.com for no-cd cracks but of course I would never condone such a thing, use at your own risk and all that jazz

Or www.megagames.com and check via www.virustotal.com or http://virusscan.jotti.org/ if your no cd is a clean one

So is there any talk of HD3 happening at all?

No official announcements but there were proposals being put on the table

When was that? Recently? Why not all the people that have create maps in this community make an upgraded HD2 or add on pack with lots of cool new maps...good WWII games never go out of style, and H&D series in my opinion are the best of the best... 

P.S - I play online and still havent been able to play the famed mod map 'Alps3' yet!

It was a while ago, they have other projects on the go at the moment... like Mafia 2... the H&D2 community doesn't have a good map editor and there is only so much you can do - we just have to be more creative with the current maps
