co-op multiplayer on same team?

hello,
i'd like to play multiplayer H&D with a friend, so that we are both on the same side, ideally with control of two soldiers each. which is the best version of H&D to achieve this?
It would be great if it could be done with H&D2, maybe with some tweaks? Is my best chance H&D deluxe?
