H&D in a Virtual Machine

Unread post by TheSeeker » Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:45 am

Hi Folks

I've just discovered your great site after searching for Hidden and Dangerous.

I played this game non-stop when it came out and loved it. My favourite level being the one where you have to steal the boat from the jetty. I've yet to find a game with such good level design. I played that one for hours before discovering the clothes on the washing line. I tried everything to get through the blockade using brute force and stealth. Of course once you figure out the clothes line trick it's easy.

Since then however I've switched to the Mac (and use Solaris at work) and no longer have access to a Windows PC.

Are there any options for running H&D in a virtual machine?  I've had some success using DosBox for older games but I think H&D is Windows only and requires Direct X.

Best regards

Ben

You can use Darwine on OSX and I believe H&D1 has support for OpenGL as well

Also, check out this: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=4392
